Carys Wood, aged 18, who is a trumpet player and is from Pembrokeshire, has been helped by the charity, with grants helping towards instruments, tuition, and transportation expenses - and she said it was "incredible" to be playing at tonight's service. "Music can be very expensive," Carys said. She is now enrolled at the renowned conservatoire, and added that "everyone should have the opportunity" to cultivate their performance abilities. A Sisterly Duo Her younger sibling Eliza, aged 11, who plays the euphonium, will also be at the Abbey. "I never thought I'd be able to play there in front of so many notable figures," she said. Among the guests will be representatives of different generations. That will feature nine-year-old Saphia Turner, winner of a prize for youthful altruism, who sells artwork and carries out sponsored challenges to generate funds for community pantries. Seasonal Ambiance and Entertainment The Abbey has been festooned with custom-created holiday decorations, with well-known chef Mary Berry and flower expert Simon Lycett helping to make them. Taking to the stage will be recording artist Katie Melua, the Abbey's own choir and a Cornish sea shanty group, the Fisherman's Friends, who said the opportunity to perform was "the perfect culmination." The festive event titled 'Together at Christmas' will be televised and shown on television on December 24th.
