The event was interrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that night, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists slowed down my talk don't think I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow". Epstein responded: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent assistant". These messages were released on Wednesday together with over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender. The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by matching the dates, occurrences, and locations referenced. For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford on November 16. Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment. Epstein's Assurance to Bannon Bannon was one of Trump's key advisers in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017. He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year." But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a personal assistant. A short time prior to the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ". Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded". Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after." UK Politics Mentioned in Exchanges The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in 2018. Earlier on the same day his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this morning with Nigel, Boris and Mogg." Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the struggling UK prime minister at the period, he added: "They are trying to move on. may today / tomorrow…" Epstein advised Bannon: "In my view remaining as much as you can uk. Best-- so people get the dedication of your follow-up." Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how however the people here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge". Theresa May was eventually toppled in 2019 after surviving two votes of no confidence in December 2018. A spokesman for Reform UK told media: "Nigel Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred. The Congress will vote next week on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in that year. Attention in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was reignited recently after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his estate. Some of those referenced the former president, who has consistently rejected any wrongdoing. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
